One person dead, two others injured in Akaki crash (Updated)

One of the three people injured in a road accident which happened early on Friday morning on the road from Akaki to Kokkinotrimithia has died in hospital.

At around 5.30am, a car driven by a 28-year-old man with a 70-year-old woman in the passenger seat collided head-on with a vehicle driven by a 24-year-old woman, a Nicosia resident.

All three were rushed to Nicosia general hospital by ambulance.

Persephone Andreou, 70, died from her injuries a few hours later.

The other two injured persons are being treated for their injuries.
