Illegal dumping in Kotsiatis will result in fines, prosecution, environment department warns

The department of the environment warned on Friday that skip operators and others violating the closed Kotsiats landfill would be fined.

“These actions are illegal and pose serious risks to the environment and health,” an announcement said.

The offenders could be fined up to €4,000, face criminal prosecution and revocation of the waste transfer licences.
