Vandals destroy bird nests constructed by kids

Vandals destroyed bird nests constructed by children and installed at a park in Nicosia, killing a number of hatchlings, the forestry department said on Friday.

The nests were built by children voluntarily and installed at a park in Nicosia and had been housing Great Tit hatchlings.

According to the department, random checks in previous days proved that the nests had been colonised successfully.

The forestry department condemned the incident and urged anyone with information to contact them on 22403740/741 or by direct message on the department’s Facebook page.
