APOEL sues LTV over €300,000 owed in TV rights

NICOSIA football club APOEL has filed an application to dissolve Lumiere Television (LTV) over thousands of euros in dues that concern television rights.

LTV had bought the rights to APOEL’s home games for €1.1m in 2012, but has not been consistent in its payments to the club.

It is understood that LTV still owed the Nicosia side around €300,000.

APOEL had agreed to reschedule the payments, as per LTV’s request, but it appeared that the station could not honour the new agreement.

A club source confirmed reports that an application had been filed to dissolve the company while a second team was also taking LTV to court for the same reason.

According to web-based 24sports, Aradhippou side Ermis had filed a lawsuit for a debt worth €231,000.

Ermis chairman Loukas Fanieros has even suggested that the cup final, in which his team will face APOEL, should not be broadcast by LTV.
