Arrest over child porn data

POLICE have arrested a 26-year-old Nicosia man in connection with possession of child pornography, it was announced on Friday.

The man was arrested after police received information that a Cyprus-based Internet user had downloaded 144 files containing child pornography through peer-to-peer programmes.

Police found out who the user was and secured a search order, which was executed on Thursday morning.

Officers seized a computer, two mobile phones, eight external memory devices, a game console, and 30 discs.
