Ozersay and Mavroyiannis meet to discuss negotiations

Chief negotiator Andreas Mavroyiannis met on Wednesday with Turkish Cypriot ‘deputy prime-minister’ Kudret Ozersay as part of the latter’s series of contacts dealing with the Cyprus negotiations.

Ozersay announced on his Facebook profile he had separate talks with Mavroyiannis, but also with the ambassadors to Nicosia of Ireland and Germany, Deirdre Ni Fhalluin and Franz Josef Krempt.

Following his meeting with Mavroyiannis, Ozersay said that it was their first meeting after a long break.

“We need to be in dialogue with all interested parties with realistic approaches … We continue to work,” Ozersay said in his post.

In another post, he said that he had also separate meetings with the two ambassadors and exchanged views with them on the Cyprus problem.

“We will continue to speak and work with the representatives of international actors on every platform possible,” he posted on his Facebook profile.

He added that they also had the opportunity to assess the challenges faced by the European Union due to Brexit.
