Where do you live and with whom?
Tseri, with my partner and most of my family, including way too many animals to list
Best childhood memory?
Trekking with my horse for the first time. I had never felt so connected to nature before that
Most frequented restaurant and absolute favourite dish? What food would you really turn your nose up to?
Olives and burgers for Quinoa Warrior. So juicy. I literally love all food, but I can’t digest meat, so I guess let’s go with that
What did you have for breakfast?
Coffee, another coffee, and an olive pie. Mornings are not my friend.
Would you class yourself as a day or night person? What’s your idea of the perfect night/day out?
It depends on the season and what I have to do. If I can do what I feel like doing, totally a morning person. Do a meditation, play with the animals. But if there’s a new episode of Doctor Who, or the moon is looking particularly pretty, then I can totally go till the sun blocks out the stars.
Best book ever read?
To Kill a Mockingbird. It was the first piece of literature that made me aware of the racism that exists around us
Favourite film of all time?
My Name is Khan. Oh the feels. If you have ever wondered what true love looks like, look no further.
Best holiday ever taken? What’s your dream trip?
Australia, me, my mum and my dad, in the middle of the Great barrier reef, all swimming around this gigantic fish the size of a boat.
What music are you listening to in the car at the moment?
Lady Gaga – Joanne. She just makes my heart race at 200mph
What is always in your fridge?
Hot Sauce and this box of noodles someone brought home forever ago
Dream house: rural retreat or urban dwelling? Where would it be, what would it be like?
An earth-ship style house, in the middle of the forest, next to a river. Completely self sustaining and off the grid, and I get to spend my time worrying about my herb garden rather than the next bill I have to pay. This style of living also gives you a massive appreciation for the eco-system we live in, and all the products we really do buy unnecessarily.
If you could pick anyone at all (alive or dead) to go out for the evening with, who would it be?
Myself. I think people don’t do that enough. Just enjoy their own company without feeling ashamed that they are solitary during their meal.
If the world is ending in 24 hours what would you do?
Get everyone I care about into one space, and just spend our time together. Basically the biggest party you’ve ever seen. And totally have 10 times more coconut ice cream than I can handle, last day, who cares!
What is your greatest fear?
Hurting someone I care about.
Tell me a joke…
My last paycheck
YOM is a food awareness project that is currently being set up by Chloe Savvidou and Hakan Beidoglu, which aims to engage people with thought-provoking, contemporary concepts on the nutrition, sustainability and morality of their food; more importantly, how they can be applied to the Cypriot culture and implemented in their daily lives. By becoming an educational hub, we hope to expand and inspire a local community to create a conscious living culture that embraces Cypriot tradition while respecting our role in the future of our ecosystem
