Troodos fog warning

Police cautioned drivers to take extra care as thick fog enveloped Troodos mountain on Saturday.

Snow has reached 5cm in Troodos square and 10cm on Mount Olympus at the peak of the Troodos mountain.

The thick fog has resulted in very limited visibility, police said.

Drivers are cautioned to be extremely careful.

The road between Prodromos village and Troodos was shut on Saturday to all vehicles while the roads from Karvounas village to Troodos and the village of Platres to Troodos were open only for four-wheel drive vehicles or vehicles with snow chains, the police added.
