Police investigate attempted murder in Paphos (updated)

Police arrested a 64-year-old man on Saturday after he shot his 44-year-old son following an argument, Paphos police said.

According to authorities, the scene in the village of Kanaviou was cordoned off and the son was only lightly injured from the gun shot.

Police said that the incident occurred at approximately 3pm and that the 64-year-old shot his son with a hunting rifle.

The 44-year-old was transferred to Paphos General, where an on-call doctor said that the man had sustained a wound in the chest area.

The older man was arrested, and the incident is being investigated by the Paphos police and police in the village of Panayia.
