Suspected crime gang member arrested

A 30-year-old man who had been wanted by the police for a number of cases was arrested on Wednesday in Mandria in Paphos following a coordinated operation.

According to the Paphos police spokesman, Michalis Ioannou, the 30-year-old is believed to be a member of a crime ring and had nine arrest warrants against him.

The suspect is believed to be involved in five break ins, attempt of destruction of property with explosives last December, an arson attack on a journalist’s car, and two car thefts

He is expected to be taken to court for a remand.
