A minute with Lorna Firth Clinical Hypnopsychotherapist, EFT Master Practitioner/Accredited Trainer with the Association of Meridian Therapies (AMT)

Where do you live?
In Anarita with my husband Ric, Hero our rescue dog, Majyck and Morgan, our cats

Best childhood memory?
Going to my Aunt’s farm in the school holidays. I felt as free as the wind when I cycled on my bike, flying down the really steep country braes with my legs sticking out. I’d help my uncle to milk the cows, gather eggs still warm from the hens; when I remember these times, it seems that the sun always shone.

Most frequented restaurant and absolute favourite dish?
Two are tied here: Limanaki in Pissouri for herbed tenderloin of lamb; Olivios in Anarita for beef strogonoff

What did you have for breakfast?
Breakfast – best meal of the day! I started with fruit then porridge with honey and goji berries, followed with a large mug of coffee.

Would you class yourself as a day or night person?
Definitely a day person. I usually see clients from 11am up to 4pm. I need to be flexible so I’m also happy to take appointments in the evening and at weekends.

Best book ever read?
I like the work of Barbara Erskine. Most recently read River of Destiny where the plot marries ancient with the now. This appeals to me as the books are very similar to regression work. Non-fiction favourite is The Answer by John Assaraf and Murray Smith.

Favourite film of all time?
The Life of Pi, I also love the book because it appeals to my sense of adventure and fantasy.

Best holiday ever taken?
Lankawi, Malaysia. It was sheer relaxation from start to finish. Ric and I went to celebrate my 65th. The staff at the resort couldn’t do enough for us. On my birthday, we found the breakfast table beautifully laid out with flowers. Later luxuries included a most beautiful bouquet of flowers and a HUGE cake.

What music are you listening to in the car at the moment?
I don’t listen to music in the car. During the day I listen to BBC radio 2 or Classic FM and have definite favourites to help relax clients who come with problems.

What is always in your fridge?
Copious quantities of fresh fruit and vegetables. Since becoming a licensed Hypnoband therapist, I am very aware of what my body needs as fuel.

Dream house: rural retreat or urban dwelling?
Definitely rural retreat, probably a bungalow with our own pool and close to the sea. I would also like an area separate from the main house in which to run my workshops and see my clients.

If you could pick anyone at all (alive or dead) to go out for the evening with, who would it be?
The Dalai Lama. He’s a wonderfully wise Buddhist and I’m always inspired when I read his words.

If the world is ending in 24 hours what would you do?
Go to Scotland to be with my family.

What is your greatest fear?
Something happening to any of my family. However, as fear is only an emotion, I can deal with it with EFT as I do with any negative emotion.

Tell me a joke:
I’m not keen on flippant one-line humour, but I do recognise how essential laughter is to keep humankind balanced and able to make the best life choices for themselves.
