Arrests for attempted robbery in Paphos

Two men aged 18 and 35 have been arrested in Paphos after they attempted to rob the jewellery section of a department store, police said.

The store owner reported to police that at around 4pm on Thursday two men were looking at various jewellery and other valuables.

One of the men then allegedly grabbed a watch valued at €180 and ran out of the shop. The owner managed to automatically lock the  entrance so the second man could not get away, police said.

She then asked the man to call his friend who had taken off with the watch to ask him to return it and she also called the police.

The man returned with the watch and the two were arrested.
