Shocks in Cyprus Cup

There were a couple of shocks in the first round of the Cyprus Cup this week.

On Wednesday, second division Othellos Athienou eliminated first division Ethnikos Achnas 7-6 on penalties after the match ended goalless, while an even bigger shock took place on Monday when second division Ayia Napa beat AEL 2-1.

In other games, high-flying Anorthosis beat Xylotympou 2-1 on Monday, with Olympiakos seeing off Anagennisi Deryneia 3-0.

On Wednesday, Digenis Oroklinis beat Pafos FC 3-0, while Paralimni beat Alki Oroklinis 6-5 on penalties after the match finished 1-1 after extra time.
