Bar review: Poe Bar, Limassol

With its great location, great drinks, unique atmosphere and service with a smile, Poe Bar deserves praise as it is one of your best ways to spend a relaxing night out. Located right in the city centre, it is ideal for anyone wanting to try something new in a buzzing area of the city.

Inspired by the author Poe, the location has a slight gothic vibe, with toned down lighting and colour palettes – yet that is the only thing toned down about the place since the people, customers and staff alike, are buzzing with life – which is one of the main reasons why one should pick this place. As a bar, it is not the biggest in size, so keeps a cozy yet cultured ambiance.

As far as drinks are concerned, here I enjoyed some of the best cocktails I’ve had in Limassol, hands down. I don’t know how the owner, and barman, Constantinos does it, but he always manages to put his own twist even on tired old drinks that the Brit woman in me loves (strawberry daiquiri anyone?). No matter what I have had I have not been disappointed – there’s a wide variety of cocktails and the quality of them will have you coming back for more.

What is another bonus is that Poe frequently hosts live musicians (at no entrance cost – which is quite impressive on its own). It is true soft rock (both in English and Greek) provides a great backdrop for a night out and a perfect pairing to a great strong drink.

The other added bonus? The place also has a great cuisine – offering a variety of pub food that is sure to put a smile on even the hungriest of faces.

Therefore, what better way to spend a night out? In a cozy, almost feels like home place, with some of the friendliest and most professional staff around that will make your experience there even more pleasant and warmer, lulled by the musical stylings of incredible musicians. Make sure you put Poe bar on your to-do list this winter, and I guarantee it will never come off it.
