The flute and guitar jazz together

The Zaatar Food and Arts venue in Nicosia will once again give plenty to listen to as our nights out wining and dining are jazzed up with a spot of live music.

Under the name Beat and Pieces, flute player Eleonora Roussou will join Loizos Pafitis on guitar on Friday to perform beloved jazz compositions. The repertoire planned for the night is dedicated to the journey that the heart takes when it goes down memory lane.

Roussou plays the flute, piano and is also a vocalist. She is a music educator and also composes music. Her range of musical genres is far and wide, as she has performed in jazz, classical, traditional, ethnic and alternative concerts at a number of festivals in Cyprus, Greece and the Netherlands.

Pafitis studied jazz guitar performance at the Ionian University of Corfu and guitar performance at the Leeds College of Music. He has been an active member in the Greek music scene since his university years, leading his own jazz groups and also as a guitarist in the funk-group Orchestra Sonora.

When he moved back to Cyprus, he started composing and performing his music with various groups in venues and festivals around the island.
