Informal ministerial council held for youth

President Nicos Anastasiades on Tuesday chaired the second informal ministerial council whose aim was to encourage youth to participate in politics and boost democracy.

Over 500 youths took part in this year’s cabinet, getting the opportunity to see how a meeting is carried out but also to put questions to the president and his ministers.

Discussion centred around matters regarding youth employment, entrepreneurship and national strategy for youth.

The participants showed special interest in matters relating to the economy, investment and defence.

They heard ministers talk about the national health scheme, the reduction in household waste, fighting corruption and future plans on foreign policy.
