Getting closer to the abstract

Gallery Gloria in Nicosia is once again showcasing art that speaks volumes tomorrow, when the solo painting exhibition by Pindaros Michailidis will have its start.

In this new collection, as in his previous works, Michailidis uses intense colour to create large-scale works that impress the viewer. The painter uses these colours to further explore his creativity with abstract paintings, something he has been doing throughout his career.

Michailidis, from Nicosia, attended a private school in Britain and studied at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. After his university studies he continued to learn about art while working in Denis Bowen’s studio, during which time he was also a member of the Diorama Arts Centre in London.

He has also lived and worked in Florence and Paris, and at present he lives and works in London.

He has exhibited his work in many European countries, including England, Italy, Ireland and Finland, as well as showcasing his art in America and Korea.

The solo exhibition at Gallery Gloria will remain open until November 29.
