German tourist dies during Larnaca swim

A 76-year-old female tourist from Germany, who lost consciousness while swimming in Larnaca on Sunday morning, was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital.

According to the police, the woman, who was staying with relatives in Dhekelia, lost consciousness while swimming at about 11am. She was taken by ambulance to the Larnaca general hospital, but it was too late. A post mortem would be carried out to establish the cause of death, police said.
