A musical journey by the Leda Music Soloists

Music lovers, prepare for a musical journey into works for the clarinet, viola and piano on Wednesday in Nicosia.

The performance, which will bring together clarinet player Gabor Varga, viola player Sinem Sadrazam and pianist Nicolas Constantinou, is organised by the Ledra Music Soloists and will take place at Pallas theatre at 8.30pm.

The three soloists will bring to life a number of pieces composed by some of the greatest composers who were inspired to write works for this rare combination of musical instruments. These include ‘Trio in E flat major, KV498 (1786) Kegelstatt’ by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. His extremely dense and serene ‘Trio in E flat major’, largely eschews virtuosity in favour of exploiting the natural lyrical qualities of the clarinet and viola.

The soloist will also perform Franz Liszt’s nostalgic ‘Romance oubliee’, Johannes Brahms’ monumental ‘Sonata in F minor’ for clarinet and piano, composed for the legendary clarinetist Richard Mühlfeld, as well as four petite piano masterpieces by Fryderyk Chopin.
