The violin and piano sing in Nicosia

Tomorrow the French Institute of Cyprus will host a concert with violin player Frederic Pelassy and Jean-Bernard Hupmann on the piano.

Pelessy is considered one of the most prominent musicians of his generation. A child prodigy distinguished by Yehudi Menuhin at an early age, he has recorded some 30 CDs to date and given hundreds of concerts on the five continents.

Pianist Hupmann has performed in many countries throughout the world as recitalist, concerto soloist and chamber musician. This brilliant virtuoso is praised for the warmth of his playing, the fluency of his phrasing, delicacy of his touch, perfect technical mastery and musical sensitivity.

The pair will perform Ludwig van Beethoven’s Sonata no.5 dite ‘du printemps’, Polonaise de Concert by Henryk Wieniawski, Bela Bartok’s Danses Roumaines, Rondo Capriccioso by Camille Saint-Saens, Meditation de Thais by Jules Masenet, Les Airs Bohemiens by Pablo de Sarasate and Tzigane by Maurice Ravel.
