Three arrested after shots fired

Three men were arrested in Limassol after shots were fired at two neighbouring residences, police said on Thursday.

“It was reported to police yesterday (Wednesday) by a 43-year-old resident of Limassol, that during the night unknown persons fired at his house as well as a neighbouring one belonging to a 49-year-old.”

Police said that from examinations carried out at the scene it was established that both the shots were fired from a shotgun with one hitting the 43-year-old’s front door, shattering its glass and damaging the inside of the house.

The shot fired at the neighbour’s house shattered the glass of a window and caused slight damage to a wall.

“From further investigations carried out it was established that the shots were fired at around two in the morning yesterday by two men who had their faces covered,” police said.

“In connection with the said case, testimony arose against three persons, aged 21, 28, and 29, who were arrested on a judicial warrant and detained to facilitate the investigation.”
