Temperatures expected to drop further from Wednesday

The cold air mass affecting the region is not going away any time soon according to data provided by the met office on Sunday, which translates to isolated showers and snowfall in the mountainous and semi-mountainous areas, while temperatures are expected to drop further from Wednesday.

The met office did not rule out showers and snowfall in the mountainous and semi-mountainous areas on Sunday evening, and warned of frost in areas with higher altitude. Temperatures are expected to drop in the evening to 4C inland, 8C in the coastal areas and -2C in the mountainous areas.

Monday is expected to be cloudy but without rain or snow. Temperatures are expected to be 11C inland, 13C in the coastal areas and -1C in the mountainous areas.

On Tuesday there is a chance of local showers and light snowfall in the mountain areas, while temperatures are expected to remain at the same levels.

Toward the middle of the week – Wednesday and Thursday – temperatures are expected to plunge with increased rain and snowfall in the mountains. On Wednesday the met office said there is a possibility of storms.
