“Can we trust the Greek side?”

A week ago, we made a video asking Greek Cypriots in Nicosia if they felt they could trust the Turkish side.

In the days since that video, much has changed. The two leaders have returned from Mont Pelerin, and the talks on the Cyprus problem seem to have broken down (at least temporarily). Despite the new circumstances, we felt it was only fair to show the other side of the coin – so we went to Lefkosia and asked a selection of people if they felt they could trust the Greeks.

The selection is necessarily random, though we’ve tried for a representative sample as far as possible. The only question, of course – which was much less relevant on the south side – is whether all of our interviewees would be eligible to vote in a referendum on a possible solution.
