Two tenors, three times the music

Very few people who love music will say they have not heard tenor Marios Frangoulis sing and not been moved. Helping him move us with songs from their latest album named Ark will be his fellow tenor George Perris in Limassol and Nicosia for three performances.

Frangoulis, who has been giving opera a good name since 1998, has the ability to sing everything from a hard-rock anthem to an operatic aria. Discovered by Sir Cameron Mackintosh, Frangoulis was hired to play the character of Marius in Les Miserables in London. He has also sung for Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, playing Raoul in The Phantom of the Opera.

The tenor’s major Classical Crossover debut album Sometimes I Dream (2002) reached the number two and three spot on the Billboard Classical Crossover chart for 50 weeks. His second international release, Follow Your Heart in 2005, also flew into the charts with flying colours as it reached the number three and tenth spots for a total of 43 weeks.

Proving that he is a tenor to be reckoned with, in 2011 he was voted Best Male Classical Crossover Artist.

Joining Frangoulis in Limassol over the weekend and in Nicosia on November 21 will be Perris.

Perris’ first released three Greek albums at the start of his career before releasing his first French album in Canada. In 2014 his first English album, Picture This in North America, hit the airwaves.

Songs from these albums and other well-known songs have been performed by the tenor at some of the most prestigious concert halls around the world, such as the Symphony Hall in Boston, Lincoln Centre in New York and the Kurucesme Arena in Istanbul. One of his shows at Lincoln Centre was also broadcast in the spring of 2014 on major American cable networks.
