Divided by time but united by hope (updated)

President Nicos Anastasiades weighed in on the time difference with the north on Sunday evening, tweeting in Greek and Turkish: “We are divided by time but united in hope”.

He was taking part in an online campaign started by Greek and Turkish Cypriot social media users who took to Facebook and Twitter to protest the decision of the north to remain one hour ahead of the south following Turkey in staying on summer time.

The campaign involved posting a photograph of the sun setting with the message “We are divided by time but united in hope” in Greek, Turkish, and English. #UnitedByHope
