French aircraft carrier docks at Limassol

With a crew of around 2,000 and bringing enormous firepower, the largest aircraft carrier in Europe, France’s Charles De Gaulle docked at Limassol on Sunday.
 
The Charles De Gaulle, is the first of two French aircraft carriers France powered by nuclear energy and is currently taking part in operations against the Islamic State under ‘Operation Inherent Resolve’.
 
The ship carries 24 Rafale fighter aircraft, two Hawkeye planes, a maritime patrol aircraft Atlantique 2 and four helicopters and had set sail on 20 September from Toulon in southern France.
 
This was is the second time the aircraft carrier visited Limassol. The first time was in 2010.

CNA said the ship had docked for the crew to have some downtime.
