Warrant secured against man who sold borrowed crusher

Limassol police announced Thursday they had secured a judicial warrant against a 48-year-old man they suspect sold a crusher used in the building industry, that he had borrowed from a company he cooperated with.

Police say the man had acquired the €120,000 mobile crusher, used in road building, after a verbal agreement with the representative of the company which owned it, without signing documents of any sort.

About a year later, the suspect was asked where the machine was located to which he is said to have replied that he was using it for some new projects he had been assigned. Further inquiries, however, found that, in reality the crusher had been sold to a Nicosia company for €95,000.

The 48-year-old, who is being investigated for offences relating to theft and obtaining property under false pretences, has yet to be located and is now a wanted man.
