Coronavirus: where to get tested on Friday

Eight rapid test points will operate on January 1 carrying out free Covid-19 testing to the general public, the health ministry announced on Thursday.

The programme prioritises those employed serving the public, delivery drivers and front-line workers.

In Limassol people can get a free test at Glafcos Clerides park on Amerikanas Street, Yermasoyia

The points in Larnaca will operate on Europe square and Ayios Georgiou Kontou parking space opposite the cemetery.

In Nicosia people can visit Eleftheria Square, the parking space of Papafilipou luna park in Makedonitissa, and the Ayias Paraskevis church in Lakatamia to receive a free rapid test.

Another test point will operate in October 28 Square in Paphos opposite the town hall.

In Famagusta citizens who wish to receive a rapid test can visit the parking space between Zorbas bakery and Hellenic Bank near the roundabout in Kapari Avenue in Paralimni.

All test points will operate from 10am to 3pm on Friday.

Results from the rapid tests may be given to people within 30 minutes after the test at the site, or via text within 24 hours.

Those who test positive with a rapid tests are considered a confirmed coronavirus case according to the health ministry.
