Shops to close by 6 pm on December 31

The labour ministry on Wednesday reminded that shops must comply with Christmas hours on New Year’s Eve.

Therefore, all general shops will have to close their doors at 6pm on December 31, it said in a statement.

Moreover, on January 1, 2 and 6, shops will have to remain closed as those days are considered holidays.

Finally, the statement said that employees of special stores who will be allowed to remain open during the holidays will receive double pay.
