Coronavirus: Driving tests postponed until January 10

The road transport department said on Wednesday that it has postponed all driving tests until January 10 because of tougher measures to contain the spread of coronavirus. The tests will be rescheduled to a later date that will be communicated to candidates and driving schools.

Vehicle inspections carried out at state inspection centres (KEMO), have also been postponed.

Finally, the announcement said only skeleton staff will at the offices of the road transport departments until January 10 to deal with urgent issues. Public access to the offices will not be allowed.

People are urged to contact the department via phone for any query.

All services for which a physical presence is not required will be carried out remotely. There are letter boxes outside the office for documents after which contact must be made by telephone.
