Policeman suspended after colleague complains of inappropriate kiss

A police officer has been suspended after a colleague of his accused him of inappropriate behaviour, alleging she was kissed on the cheek while on duty.

Local media reported that the incident occurred last week. Cyprus Times quoted Nicosia police chief, Yiannakis Charalambous, as saying that orders were immediately given for an investigation to look into the incident.

It was also reported that the now suspended officer appears to have visited his colleague while she was on duty and kissed her on the cheek.

Both officers involved in the alleged incident have given statements.
