Omonia hit three past Anorthosis and move into third place

Omonia moved into third place after a resounding 3-0 win over Anorthosis in Nicosia for round 16 of the fooball championship.

Asante opened the score for Omonia in the 5th minute after Lecjaks cross somehow evaded everyone allowing the striker from Ghana to shoot past goalkeeper Loria.

Veteran Greek striker Fotis Papoulis added a second just before the half-hour beating Loria from the edge of the box.

Anorthosis’ coach Temur Getsbaya made a couple of changes at the interval in an attempt to change things around.

However three minutes after the restart the game was effectively over.

Anorthosis failed to clear another Lecjak cross with the ball falling invitingly to Asante who swept the ball past Loria for Omonia’s third.

Omonia are just a point behind Anorthosis having also played a game less.
