OPAP virtual marathon a success

The OPAP virtual marathon event has been successfully completed. The event took place between November 21 and December 12, once again promoting the country abroad.

The event involved the participation of 3,000 runners from Cyprus and 55 other countries, including 40 teams and more than 1,000 students from 40 high schools and elementary schools, who all managed to showcase the spirit of healthy competition and fair play during a difficult time.

The event also served another purpose, as it managed to raise €16,000 for charity, solidifying the marathon as the island’s largest running-based charity event.

Thousands of runners contributed towards raising €4,000 for the Karaiskakio Foundation, while the remaining €12,000 was raised through the Give’n’Gain platform and will be used for charitable causes selected by each donor.
