Enid Blyton would have been behind bars by now

Imagine if Enid Blyton had set her books in these modern times?

The eldest of the Famous Five was 13 years old, yet they played in the fields, forests and lakes for hours on end without a parent in sight.

Enid would probably be locked-up for encouraging youngsters to play unsupervised !!! And Edith Nesbit would have been branded as a lunatic for encouraging “The Railway Children” (who were even younger) to explore railway sidings and train tracks …. compare that to today’s under-13’s, many of whom have never been outside alone !
