Yellow weather warning for thunderstorms

A yellow weather warning has been issued for thunderstorms which is valid until 4pm on Saturday.

The met office has said that thunderstorms are expected and rainfall may exceed 35mm per hour, while hail is also possible.

“Be aware that thunderstorms may occur. Take extra care in exposed areas, like mountains, forests and open terrain. Disruption to outdoor activities is possible,” the met office announcement said.

On Sunday and Monday isolated rain is expected mainly after noon. Isolated storms are not ruled out on Tuesday afternoon.

Temperature on Sunday is expected to rise to 21 degrees Celsius inland, 22C in the coastal areas and around 12C in the mountainous areas. Monday and Tuesday are expected to be slightly warmer with the temperature forecast to drop on Wednesday.
