Paphos employee suspected of stealing over €60,000

An employee at a pharmaceutical drug distribution in Paphos was arrested for the second time this month in suspicion of stealing items worth over €60,000, police said on Sunday.

He was initially arrested on November 14 after a senior employee at the drug distribution in Paphos, reported that various items were stolen from containers worth some €275.

A witness came forward to confirm the allegations and after the suspect’s house was searched, various pharmaceuticals and other items were found. According to police, he did not give any satisfactory explanations, was arrested and consequently remanded for five days. The man was charged in writing and released to be called to court at a later date.

Nonetheless he was arrested on Saturday again when a new report was made against him in connection with stealing various items from his place of employment amounting to €60,000.

Paphos police continue investigations.
