Coronavirus: Saturday’s rapid test sites

Rapid testing for the general population continues on Saturday as part of the health ministry’s efforts to form a better picture of the coronavirus outbreak in Cyprus.

The tests are free.  The programme was launched on Monday, with the ministry announcing on Friday that it has bought 200,000 rapid antigen tests. These have a 94% sensitivity rate, but all positive results are then confirmed by PCR test, it added.

On Saturday, rapid tests will be carried out at the following sites:

Paphos

  1. Papantoniou supermarket parking (Elladas Avenue), from 8 am to 5 pm
  2. Eleftherios Venizelou Avenue (in front of the citizen’s service centre) from 8 am to 5 pm
  3. Panayia Chrysoaimatousis church, Chlorakas, from 9 am to 7 pm

Limassol

  1. Gregoris Afxentiou avenue from 8 am to 5 pm
  2. Alphamega supermarket parking Linopetra, from 8 am to 5 pm
  3. Limassol Shopping Centre, Polemidia (former Orphanides), 9 am to 5 pm
  4. Promenade (Molos) – Caffe Nero area, from 8 am to 5 pm
  5. Promenade (Molos) – Old Port, from 8 am to 5 pm

Larnaca

  1. Livadia (Stelios Andreou supermarket parking), from 8 am to 5 pm
  2. Kiti community council, from 8 am to 5 pm
  3. Europe Square, from 8 am to 5 pm
  4. Jumbos parking area, from 8 am to 5 pm

Famagusta

  1. Panayia Eleousis church, Liopetri, from 8 am to 5 pm

Nicosia

  1. Athienitis supermarket parking area (John Kennedy, Palliouritissa) from 8 am to 5 pm
  2. Alphamega supermarket parking area, Engomi, from 8 am to 5 pm
  3. Outpatients clinic, Dali, from 8 am to 7 pm
  4. Junction of Stavrou and Iosif Hadjiosif (in front of Coffee Island) from 8 am to 5 pm
  5. Eleftheria Square (Ledra Street side), from 8 am to 5 pm.

The programme is open to all with priority for those involved in customer service, delivery workers and frontline workers.

They will be informed about the results by SMS within 24 hours and if they wish in writing by the mobile units within 30 minutes of the test.
