Coronavirus: 33 test positive in Kyperounta facility

Thirty-three people have tested positive for the coronavirus in a home for the elderly in the village of Kyperounta, the health ministry reported on Thursday.

Of the 33, 21 were elderly residents and 12 were staff.

All but one of the elderly resident had mild symptoms, it was reported. The one person with more serious symptoms has been taken to Famagusta general hospital, the referral facility for Covid-19 patients.

Of the 24 elderly who were tested, 21 came out positive; and 12 of the 18 staff working there tested positive.
