Health ministry to account for 9.6 per cent of state budget

The health ministry’s budget will be higher in 2021, to over one billion euros, making up 9.63 per cent of the state’s budget.

Presenting the budget, Health Minister Constantinos Ioannou told MPs next year’s budget would reach €1.017bn compared with €962m this year.

The ministry expects revenues to reach €284.52m against around €186m in 2020, up €98.5m or 52.9 per cent.

Around €70m will be paid to the state health services organisation Okypy and €16.8m as the state’s contribution to Gesy.
