Abu Dhabi’s $22 billion city of the future

Masdar City is the eco-city of the future, but is it really as successful as its master plan says it will be? With a $22 billion budget, the Mubadala Development Company really hopes so. With a goal of reducing carbon emissions, using renewable energy sources, and creating brand new clean-tech innovations that’ll change the world, the futuristic city definitely had a lot to accomplish. It aims to have at least 50,000 residents living there upon completion in 2030, but so far only 4,000 workers and 1,300 students call this desert city their home.
