The health ministry announced 22 new cases of Covid-19 on Saturday from 3,477 tests.
Six cases came through passenger testing and eight through private initiative.
Of the cases that came from passengers, one came to Larnaca from Moscow on October 2, two came to Larnaca from London on the same day, and three came from Athens on Friday.
The eight cases that came from people tested on private initiative include two individuals, who work at a business in Dasaki Achnas.
The ministry said both had symptoms. One of the cases is a footballer for Asil Lysis and is a contact of the other member of the team announced on September 29. Another case is an individual, who did the test privately without having any symptoms.
One case had symptoms since September 29 and was tested privately.
Three of the cases are Russians, who did their tests on the twelfth day of their mandatory quarantine.
According to the ministry, another three cases were found through contact tracing. One is a family member of a case announced on September 30, who is from the cluster created by Ethnikos Achnas football team.
The second is contact of case announced on September 29, who is also a contact of a previously confirmed case. The third individual is a contact of a student at the Linopetra gymnasium, who studies at another gymnasium in the Limassol district.
Four more cases were identified from people tested on their doctors’ orders. The first had symptoms and is an individual that works at the British Bases. The second and third also had symptoms and was tested. The fourth did the test ahead of surgery.
One case was found by state hospital laboratories. The case is a British man, who arrived in Cyprus on September 27. He developed symptoms on October 2, and visited the hospital, where he was then taken to Famagusta General.
The total cases stands at 1,811.
There are ten people being treated at Famagusta General, the reference hospital. Four of the individuals are in the high-dependency unit.
Two people are intubated at Nicosia General’s intensive care unit, and there is one more person being treated at another hospital in Cyprus.
Earlier, the ministry reported that as of October 1, the average age of Covid-19 cases since July 1 is 31 (80 per cent are 18-59, 11 per cent are 60+, and 9 per cent are 0-17).
Of the cases reported since July 1, 44 per cent are women and 56 per cent are men.
