Crews battle with fire in Episkopi (Update)

A fire raging southwest of Episkopi was under control on Saturday evening, after hours of burning wild vegetation.

According to bases spokesman Kristian Gray, no citizens or their properties were harmed.

Fire service spokesperson Andreas Kettis said, the fire erupted at around 2pm and was within the British bases.

The Republic’s fire service has sent four engines to assist while aircraft have also been dispatched to the area.
