Coronavirus: Nicosia Mall closed with the exception of Athienitis supermarket

Following the decision of the council of ministers taken on Sunday as part of the preventive measures to limit the spread of coronavirus, the Nicosia Mall is closing down all its operations with the sole exception of the Athienitis supermarket, which will remain open.
The supermarket will remain open Monday to Saturday from 8.30am to 8pm and on Sunday from 9am to 8pm.
The government issued a slew of restrictions to curb the spread of the virus. The Employers and Industrialists Federation (Oev) on Monday morning sought to clarify some of the measures businesses must take to face the current situation.
Department stores and shopping malls are closed for four weeks starting Monday. The same applies to shops irrespective of their nature or size inside shopping malls.
Supermarkets inside shopping malls, like Athienitis at the Nicosia Mall, may remain open provided that there are 8sq.m between employees and 2 metres between customers.

Other stores, e.g. clothing / footwear stores etc. located outside shopping malls that do not fall within the definition of a department store, remain open. For these stores, the maximum number of 5 employees has been set while at the same time the ratio of 1 person per 8 sq.m, including the employees, should be respected, Oev said.
