Dog killed during fire at Potamia workshop

A fire that broke out in a Potamia textile workshop caused extensive damage to the building and killed one of four dogs on the premises, fire service deputy spokesman Stelios Nestoros said.

The fire broke out at approximately 2pm at the workshop, and seriously damaged the structure, and the first floor of a home on top of the workshop.

Four fire engines took more than two hours to put out the blaze. Nestoros said that the owner of the building, was not harmed in by the fire.  Three of the dogs on the premises were saved but a fourth died, he added.
