Snowfall closes roads, hail falls into sea (v)

Police announced on Sunday afternoon that due to snowfall the Prodromos Troodos road was closed to all vehicles, while those heading up to the mountains from Limassol are only open for cars with chains.

However several roads are slippery and a danger to drivers. These are: Limassol-Agros, Gerasa-Kalo Chorio, Gerasa-Louvara, Kalo Chorio-Louvara, Lania-Moniatis-Platres and Saita-Amiantos.

Also, due to snowfall at around 3.30 in the area of Kykkos and Panayia the Kykkos-Panayia road is only open to cars with four-wheel drive or equipped with snow chains.

In the Paphos district hail has left the Yiolou to Stroumbi road dangerous.

A mist that has fallen over Troodos is adding to the difficulties.

It was not just the higher areas that were caught out either, this video shows hail falling into the sea in Peyia.
