A 40-year-old man died on Tuesday when his motorcycle was hit by a car attempting to make a right turn in Kokkinotrimithia, police said.

According to police, Athos Charalambous’ large bike, which he was driving in the opposite direction, was hit by a car turning right into a petrol station in the village.

Charalambous was thrown off his bike from the crash and landed on the ground.

An ambulance arrived at the scene and rushed him to the Apollonion hospital, police spokesman Neophytos Siailas said, where on-call doctors pronounced him dead.
