Jumbo Star Wars plate declared unsafe

The health ministry on Tuesday announced that a Star Wars-themed melamine plate sold by Jumbo stores was found unsafe to serve food on and has been recalled.

The ministry said in an announcement that Greek authorities found during lab tests that melamine concentrations exceeded the maximum legal limits for use concerning contact with food.
The plate (batch number Lot No 1115) was manufactured in China and was in Jumbo stores in Cyprus.

The company has lifted the product from its shelves but some plates may have been sold prior to that.

Consumers who may have purchased the plate are urged to stop using it and return it to the shop where they bought it from.
