Anastasiades to travel to London as guest of royal family

President Nicos Anastasiades is to travel to London as a guest of the royal family, government spokesman Prodromos Prodromou announced on Wednesday.

Speaking to reporters at the presidential palace spokesman said the President would travel on March 3 in as a guest of the royal family to attend an event organised by Buckingham Palace as part the Commonwealth entitled ‘Celebration for Cyprus’.

This event will be held at the London palace. Outside of a special ceremony, it will include an exhibition of archaeological objects from Cyprus and old original maps of Cyprus.

Anastasiades will give a speech at the ceremony.

In addition to meeting Queen Elizabeth, the president will also meet separately with Prince Charles as a future head of the Commonwealth, and the Duke of Cambridge, and also with British Prime Minister Theresa May.
