Nicosia man found dead, overdose suspected

Police are investigating the case of a man who was found dead on Thursday on the Anthoupolis-Ayioi Trimithias road in the Nicosia suburb of Anthoupolis.

At around 2pm police received a tip from a member of the public who had spotted the man.

Investigations have all but ruled out foul play.

Reports said that police found a syringe next to the dead man’s body, pointing to the possibility of a drug overdose. The man is described as being about 35 years old.

A post-mortem will be conducted on Friday by pathologist Nicholas Charalambous.
