Arrest in Nicosia after woman fell from balcony, police suspect she was pushed

A 56-year-old man was arrested in Nicosia on Sunday in connection with a suspected murder attempt in Aglandjia.

According to police, at around 6:15am information was received that a young woman had fallen from the first floor of a block of flats.

The young woman was found on the ground unconscious and was rushed to Nicosia general hospital where she was undergoing surgery for multiple fractures.

During investigations, police received a statement from a witness implicating the 56-year-old who was arrested.

No further details were immediately available.
